Balearics Supper Club
The Balearic Islands (officially and in Catalan Illes Balears) are an autonomous community of Spain, formed by the Balearic Islands province. The Balearics form Europe’s largest archipelago. Only five islands, Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Cabrera, of the 151 smaller isles, are inhabited.
Our August supper club is centred around the cuisine of this region. Our menu showcases the most seasonal of ingredients, and local of recipes.
Three courses with pairings for just £60pp.
Balearic cuisine takes influence from Mediterranean cuisine, whilst sharing ingredients and dishes from Catalonia and Valencian Community. Traditional dishes are rich in vegetables, cereal and legumes as well as being low in fats. As a result, the region is most well known for ensaimades (pastries), seafood and vegetable stews. Similarly, sobrassada, coques, tombet (traditional vegetable dish), Maó cheese and wine are also favourites.
